Michael R. Corboy
Michael R. Corboy currently serves as President and CEO of Corboy Investment Company in Dallas, Texas. He previously served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of AMTECH Corporation. The company provided electronic identification products and services for various markets, including tollways, rail, fleet and inter-model container transportation. He retired from the board in 1992.
From 1973 to 1987, he served as President of Tocom, Inc., a public company and leading manufacturer of addressable converters and systems for the cable television industry, which was acquired by General Instrument Corporation. From 1968 through 1972, he served as a General Partner of New Business Resources — Venture Capital Partnership, the founding investor of six successful high technology start-up companies, including Mostek Corporation, Medicus Systems and International Power Machines. Prior to the forming of New Business Resources, he held several executive positions with Texas Instruments from 1957 to 1968, including U. S. Field Sales Manager and Manager of European Marketing Operations for the Semiconductor-Component Division, Corporation Manager for Investor Relations and Manager of Component Group Strategy.
He has served on several boards over the years, including the Foxboro Company during 1986-1990, prior to their merger with Siebe Corporation. He also served on the NetWorth Board until it was acquired by Compaq. During 1993 - 1997, he served on the Board of Directors of Wylie Electronics of Irvine, CA, where he chaired both the Audit and Compensation Committees before Wylie's acquisition by VEBA. Other board positions included Family Hospice, Inc., Netspeed and Tipping Point.
He also served on the national board of the American Electronics Association, was past Chairman of the AEA Southwest Council and was Chairman of the CEO Committee of the Southwest Council. Mr. Corboy is also a past President of both the Jesuit College Preparatory School Foundation and Board of Advisors and served on the Board of Trustees of Jesuit in Dallas. He is currently President of the St. Anthony School Foundation in Dallas, and served on the Dave Fox Inner City Trust Fund, the Advisory Board for The Children’s Education Fund, the Board of Trustees of the University of Dallas, the Board of Trustees of the University of Dallas Foundation and on the Board of Visitors of the University Texas Southwest Medical Center, Inc. He also serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the American Ireland Fund.
Mr. Corboy holds a B.S. degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and an M.B.A degree from Pepperdine University and lives in Dallas with his wife, Lou Ann.
