What is Allies in Service’s mission?

Allies in Service's mission is to identify and support veterans who need assistance in the areas of employment, housing, education, and health care. We partner with veterans, employers, community and other veteran support organizations to educate and enhance the quality of life of our veterans.


What is Allies in Service’s vision?

Allies in Service's vision is that our community of service members, veterans, and their families has access to quality health care, education, safe and affordable housing choices, and meaningful employment.

What is the Advisory Council and Board of Directors? Who serves on it?

To effectively manage and execute Allies’ responsibilities and obligations to the community and our veterans, there is an appointed Advisory Council and Board of Directors. The Board is empowered to render decisions and take actions on behalf of Allies. The Council gives Allies advice and serves as ambassadors for our cause among peers in the community.

Thank you for your inquiry about being a part of Allies’ Board of Directors and Advisory Council. The Board and Council are made up of key business and civic leaders from across Dallas. We are pleased that you are interested in serving and will pass your name and information along to our team.

I am interested in mentoring. How can I get involved?

Yes! Allies is always looking for volunteers. Please fill out the volunteer form. Once we have your information and a veteran match, we will be in contact with you. Thank you for your service.


What are the key areas of focus for Allies?

Allies has four main areas of service. They include employment, education, housing and healthcare. This is not to say that Allies in Service does not also assist in other areas, such as womens needs and legal assistance, but emphasizes these four.

Employment

  • Employment Orientation - resume assistance, mock interviews, career choice evaluations
  • Career leads and referrals for veterans; veteran employee support for employers
  • Warrior Mentorship Program - connecting senior level executive mentors with veteran proteges for one year

Education

  • Resources for/access to continuing education programs
  • Referrals to training programs
  • Access to student veteran groups and organizations and university veteran liaisons

Health Care

  • Resources and referrals for/access to traditional and non-traditional mental health and substance abuse programs
  • Peer-to-peer counseling programs
  • Benefit navigation

Housing

  • Referrals for crisis and short-term housing
  • Home ownership - assistance in navigating obstacles including credit counseling referrals and home buying workshops
  • Home Award Program - when available
  • Furniture - resources for veterans in need of transitional items

Who do I contact for media information?

How is Allies in Service funded?

Allies in Service is currently 100% funded by a private donor. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and will soon accept donations online at www.alliesinservice.org.


How do/does I/my company become a donor?

I am hosting a veteran-friendly and/or community event and would love for Allies to set up a booth. Can you send a representative to attend?

Allies in Service plans to outreach to our veterans, service members and their families to make sure they know that Allies is their advocate for resources within the community. We also plan on doing this at community events by creating a wave of awareness and excitement. To make this possible, a booth will be available to provide a presence at events throughout Dallas. I am a veteran, service member or family and am looking for a mentor. How can I get hooked up?

Please visit the Veteran Resource tab on our website and fill out the mentor form. Once we have your information and a volunteer that could be a possible fit, we will be in contact with you. Thank you for your service.


I am interested in supporting our local service members, veterans and families, but not sure I’d make the best mentor. Are there other volunteer opportunities available with Allies in Service?

Are there any job opportunities or internships available with Allies in Service?

Allies in Service is unable to provide autographs on behalf of Roger Staubach.


Can I use Allies in Service’s logo on my product?

The official Allies in Service logo is the property of Allies and is designed and approved by our Communications Department. The use of the logo is strongly enforced and restricted to use solely by Allies in Service and its partners.
