Janie Purvis

Director of Communication and Community Relations

Janie Purvis joined Allies in Service in October 2014 and currently serves as Director of Communication and Community Relations.  In this role, she builds community relations and leads the outreach efforts with organizational partnerships, employers, and individuals. Additionally, she manages the organization’s communications efforts.   

Janie is a military spouse whose husband has served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years and is currently a First Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. She currently serves in the Commander’s Key Spouse Program, a group that creates a sense of Air Force community and provides support for military spouses, particularly during a deployment. Her family has been through the transition from active duty to reserve, deployments, and unemployment enabling her to relate to the employment concerns that our Veterans experience.

Prior to joining Allies in Service, Janie worked for Sprint as a National Account Manager on their Emerging and Wholesale Solutions team. She graduated with honors from John Brown University with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management and received her Master’s degree in Marketing and Communication in 2012 from Franklin University.
